Shipping Guide

Wet Lead Acid Batteries

Battery Types Include:
Automotive and Stationary Glass Packs

Automotive Batteries are to be skidded on suitable wood skids (2,000 lb. capacity) no more than two layers high. Use cardboard or plywood between each layer. The skid should be wrapped in suitable plastic wrap, weighed, and marked with the battery type.

It is essential to carefully stack and arrange waste batteries to avoid puncture damage. Glass jar batteries can only be stacked one layer per skid.

All lead Acid batteries can be shipped on common bill of lading.

If shipped on Ontario hazardous waste manifest the generator must be registered with The Ontario Ministry of the Environment as a hazardous waste generator.

Batteries that are shipped to The Battery Broker should be labeled as:

WASTE BATTERIES, WET, FILLED WITH ACID,
