Our Goals

At the Battery Broker Environmental Services Inc, Our Mission is to safely and properly collect all types of used waste batteries. With the help from our partners in recycling, we prevent them from being disposed of in our unsecured landfill sites.

Batteries are unique item; they are one of the few things in the world that are 100% recyclable. Metals that are used in the manufacturing of batteries, such as Lead, Zinc, Cadmium, Mercury, etc can be recycled and reused repeatedly. The plastic or steel casings that make up the batteries outer shell can also be repeatedly recycled.

To help us achieve our goal. The Battery Broker has implemented the following training plans for all employees:

Battery Identification.
All employees are trained to identify batteries and know the proper procedures for storing each type of battery.
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHIMS).
All employees receive WHMIS training and are tested on this program before being issued a Certificate of Training.
Health and Safety Inspection.
Under the watchful eye of our health and safety inspector, all employees are trained in the use of safety equipment.
The health and safety inspector is also responsible for conducting monthly site inspections using an inspection checklist.
To this date we have passed all health and safety inspection by the Ministry of the Environment.
First aid and Fire Safety.
As a part of health and safety, all employees receive first aid and fire safety awareness training.
Spill Prevention and Containment Plan.
All employees are trained in the proper handling of all materials and in the procedures to ensure that chemical spills are prevented.
We know that accidents do happen, so each employee is trained in the proper methods of containing inside and outside spills to minimize any damage to the environment.

To this day, we have not had to contain even one single spill. A big thanks goes to our contentious employees.
